Dawn Yun is the founder and editor-in-chief of The Writing Mamas, as well as the founder, director and producer of The Mama Monologues: an annual fundraising event that attracts an audience of hundreds and features mamas onstage kvetching about motherhood, parents downing LOTS of wine and all profits are donated to mothers, fathers and children in need. She is a journalist — her first paying article was published when she was 17 — author, The Joy of Outlet Shopping, Calming Crafts: New Crafts to Inspire Your Creativity, and a co-writer on Never Pay Retail. She is currently writing a supernatural memoir (and what is more super AND natural than being a mother?) Dawn has been the editorial director for First Auction, one of the nation’s first auction/retail websites, a spokesperson for Rit Dye, marketing manager for Maidenform (yes, that bra manufacturer) where her claim to lingerie fame was naming the Rendezvous bra. She was a journalist for a trade magazine where she wrote columns about saving money. Dawn was a journalist for United Press International. She has also been an advertising copywriter. She has appeared on Oprah, Good Morning America, CBS This Morning, Lifetime, Fox, and the Discovery Channel. Her writing has appeared in The San Francisco Chronicle, where she still writes a website blog, Parents, Family Fun, Inc., Wine-X, and others. She is a wife and mother of 18-year old Jay, soon off to college (boo-hoo) and 10-year old daughter, Mia, who holds the record for the world’s largest collection of stuffies and is her mother’s heart.
